Palpasa Cafe originally priced at Rs.250 is a début novel by Narayan Wagle and was released in 2005. It was successful to get the Madan Puraskar and Akkhyan Purashkar for BS 2061. It has since sold 20,000 copies and has also come out in English recently under the same title.
"The subsidy has been possible due to the sales we achieved with the earlier versions. I thank all those who have bought the book, it was them who have helped us make these books come out at these prices," says Kiran Shrestha of publication nepa~laya.
"Palpasa Cafe has been a milestone in Nepali publications and with the timely release of the subsidized student edition it is all set to achieve another milestone" says Anjan Shrestha of Education Book Shop.
"People, especially students complained about the price of the book - I am happy the publishers have decided to respect the student with this edition. I remain overwhelmed with the response to my book and would like to thank all those who have accepted my book." says Narayan Wagle, the humble celebrated author of Palpasa Café. "Being an author has been an inspiring experience for me."
