'Hiti Pranali' is an extensive research work on the ancient Hiti system. The book talks about how the Hitis played an important role in Nepali life and how the introduction of pipes and taps for drinking water covered the Hitis. He discusses at length how the centralization of city services has created problems in maintaining them.

The writer also recommends ways to rehabilitate Hiti to revitalize the system as a whole. Joshi's proposal to revive Hiti puts on top of mapping the system along with declaring it a national heritage, with a proper law, without politicizing it. It includes separate drainage systems in the valley with stormwater and outfall sewers.
